Another Camping Success!

Read Now

To all of you who prayed and gave for the camping ministry in Pakistan, you should know that your prayers were answered. (Just so you know, we raised the amount needed, plus an extra $21 which was sent on over with the needed funds).

I'm back in America now, but during my last days in Honduras, I received continual reports from Pastor Shaukat telling all about the experience. Each day I received 60-100 photos and videos. Yesterday he wrote saying:

By the grace of God, our youth camp is completed, and my vision is completed through this camp. Two hundred campers were able to join us in this camp, and it was a very blessed time to share the gospel. We divided all the campers into four groups, and every group was led by 12 councilors. During these four days, all the campers and youngsters were given our individual attention. We preached about the lives of four characters, John, Joseph, Jacob, and Samson. The insight into these four characters was very effective for the youth. As a result, eighty youngsters accepted the Lord Jesus Christ, and seventy-five decided to dedicate their lives to spreading the gospel of Christ in the future. I have sent photos and videos.

Young people (actually young adults) came from the nearly two dozen churches Shaukat and his team have started and brought with them a desire to study God's Word, breathe the fresh mountain air, and influence the unsaved friends they brought with them. And they could do all this because of your generous giving.

The camp was delayed because of heavy rains and mudslides, but when the skies cleared, they jumped in the rented busses and escaped the city's crowds, noise, and pollution to roam the wonders of God's creation. Each day they enjoyed great food, games, and study time, and there was time for preaching throughout the day.

At the end of the fourth day, after they gathered for a group photo, most young adults headed for home with Christ in their hearts and a desire to learn more about Him and teach others cemented into their minds. Shaukat, however, did not go home. Instead, he gathered some of these followers of Christ and headed out to the deserts to evangelize more unreached villages. Before arriving home, the new disciples learned how to witness and plant a new church. Now they will enroll in his multiple Bible institutes and be trained as church leaders, church planters, and pastors. And yes, there were female converts, too, but this is a male-dominated society, and the tribal women are a bit shy to be photographed. So here you see the men and boys that accepted Christ.

So, I ask you, was your spiritual and financial investment in winning and training Pakistani young adults in a four-day camp profitable? You bet it was! Thank you for making this possible, and be watching next week when I will pass on to you a need we have for this group in Pakistan.

Ukraine Update

Read Now

We are so grateful for your loving support over the past 5 months. The Lord has used you in a significant way to encourage our family and further our church's war time ministry. We never thought we would be living through war or be making the on the dime decisions we have had to make over the last months. We appreciate and truly feel the prayers that have gone up to the Lord on our behalf. Our greatest desire is for this war to end and for spiritual revival to spring up all over the world as people marvel at God's Grace to Ukraine in victory!

Last week, Abigail and I served in a camp for teenage, Ukrainian refugees in the Czech Republic. This was a wonderful but tiring time for the both of us. It was an answer to prayer for our daughter to be able to focus more on others and serve them rather than dwell on her own woes.  We thank you for your continued prayers for Abigail in this matter.

Oleg continues to minister to both our people in Mukachevo as well as refugees here in Budapest. The war time fellowship in Budapest is going well. Refugees are hungry for fellowship in an informal setting. Right now, we are meeting in the fellowship hall of a local church for a meal, prayer, and Bible Study. Please pray for us as we advertise this meeting and for the Lord to bless our efforts to help our fellow Ukrainians feel loved, cared for, and wanted. Living in exile is so very lonely.

Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Mukachevo continues to receive refugees, feed/house them, and help them find more permanent accommodations for the future. We continue to raise money to evacuate those stuck in hot zones and transport them to safety. Our refugees in residence raised over 16,000 UAH ($450) making and selling crafts from past year's leftover camp materials. They were so excited to have something purposeful to do and help with the war effort themselves. Please pray for our church volunteers to have much wisdom as they serve this very vulnerable group of people. Pray for the seeds of the Gospel to grow in their hearts and produce fruit!

We covet your prayers for victory in Ukraine on Ukrainian terms and for the bitter seeds of hate not to find fertile ground in Ukrainian hearts. Please also pray for our family to adjust to all the changes that continually come our way. Pray for us to cast our cares only on the Lord as our souls grieve for what is happening in and to our beloved Ukraine.

Sincerely in Christ,
Oleg, Lori, Abigail, and Simon Enskyy

Myanmar Orphanage Project

Read Now

Earlier this year, we were blessed with an opportunity to raise funds to add on and improve our orphanage in Myanmar, a country torn by civil war for decades. Our director there, Pastor Vel Za Siama started this orphanage long ago, and my wife Nolin and I have been blessed to both support and meet one of the girls living there. In recent years many of you have helped us buy not one but two farms for the orphanage where they grow chickens, tilapia, and goats. These endeavors help provide food for the kids and a surplus for pastors we also support there. During the pandemic, things have ground to a slow pace, but the work continued.

A few months ago, we were asked to raise $29,000 to add a second floor to part of the facility, which would be used for more housing, and to remodel the kitchen below, which was flooding with each rain. A donor called and asked what needs we had at that moment and paid the project in full before we had time to make you aware of it. What a blessing.

Today, however, I received some upsetting news. From the time we began this project, collecting funds and sending them over, prices doubled in some cases and tripled in others, not unlike in the rest of the world. Our team has done their best to cut corners; in fact, Vel’s wife has forgone medical treatments and medicine so the funds could be used for the children. Vel has informed me that due to rising costs, he has a deficit of $13,000, and we want to help meet that need. The kids need a completed, safe and dry place to live.

If you are able and inclined to help, please do so by using the donation form on this page or mailing in a check for our Myanmar Orphanage. Below you can see some of their progress and understand why we need to finish this project. I don’t want our Lord’s enemies to mock his servants in Myanmar by saying, “this man began to build and was not able to finish.” (Luke 14:30)

Thank you for considering this need and joining me as a partner in fulfilling it.

Jon

Enjoy the photos:
In Myanmar, as in many countries, the first floor would be our second. What we call the first floor, they call the ground floor. So, in reality, this is a three-story facility being constructed against their existing facility. Knowing that will help you understand the photos better.

Pray for the Christian Summer Camp in PakistaN

Read Now

We just wanted to give you a quick update on the Summer Youth Camp in Pakistan. It was already meant to have taken place, but it had to be postponed due to heavy rain, which has caused land slides on the mountain roads that the team would be travelling. Today though they have made the journey and the camp begins tomorrow. Pictured below is a photo of some of the staff during their training session. Pray for all those involved, for the staff and their instruction, and for many lives to be changed!

Ukraine Update

Read Now

Here is a quick update so you can see what our refugee kids and remaining TAL kids have been doing the past few weeks. Our staff collected up remaining craft supplies from past years and the kids made bracelets, drawings, hair clips, etc using patriotic themes. We got permission from the city council to set up a tent on Mukachevo's central square to auction them off to earn money for our soldiers! Some of the refugee mothers baked cookies to auction off as well! It has been a great encouragement for everyone to do their part in helping to save Ukraine!
Thank you for helping us minister to Ukraine!

UKRAINE UPDATE

Read Now

Greetings from Ukraine and Budapest!

This week russia continued to bomb civilian infrastructure all over Ukraine. Children were maimed and killed, houses and schools destroyed, and farmers targeted as they harvested their crops. 150 days of terror. Many of the Ukrainians we talk to say they are numb and the endless newsreels of destruction have ceased to affect them. We covet your prayers for Ukrainian victory on Ukrainian terms.  We covet your prayers for a mighty spiritual awakening in Ukraine!

We enjoyed fellowship with the refugees living at the church dormitory this week. Many of these families have lost everything and are in the process of restoring their documents so that they can try to rebuild their lives. Depression, fear, and a sense of helplessness can be heard in their stories. We are trying to lovingly share the HOPE that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ can give. Please pray for the seeds we plant on a daily basis to give root and bring forth the fruit of salvation! We are preparing to participate in a city wide fundraising event to help the Ukrainian army and the kids have been hard at work making patriotic souvenirs for the fair!

Please continue to pray for the building take over situation. We have a court date in mid August. Our lawyer seems confident that we will win, but warns that they will appeal. Pray for the Lord's will and protection of our building. There are no other temporary housing options available in our city. Funding is a problem everywhere and many temporary refuges have had to close. We thank you for your continued support for our war ministries. Your prayers and financial support are saving lives and offering refuge to many desperate families.

Sincerely,
Oleg, Lori, Abigail, and Simon Enskyy
